Wednesday night musicale with special friends

At 8:30 pm, July 31, 2019, the Dominican Brothers began a musical evening with the active participation of special friends who came to share their talents and manifest God’s blessings.

Songs and instrumental pieces were rendered by some disabled brothers and sisters who belong to Christ the King Lay Fraternity. Their general membership has gone beyond a hundred. Their experiences in life had strengthened them to face challenges. Directed by Fr. Joseph Nguyen Trong Vien, O.P., they announce the Gospel to their own disabled brothers and sisters.

Brother Duy Luan sang “Hello Vietnam”; Sister Vu Thuy, “Blind Girl with a white coffee”; Brother Ngoc, “Oh God, you made no mistake”; Kim Thanh, “The Way of my Lord”; and Bro. Hoang Dieu, “You raise me up.”

A surprise song rendition, “It is Thee who chose me” was shared by a group of Dominican brothers and Capitulars led by Rev. Fr. Orlando Rueda Acevedo, O.P., Socius for Apostolic Life.  A blind guitarist, Mr. Duong Ha, fascinated the Assembly with his masterpiece.

The lovely evening concluded with group photo opportunities with the performers, the Dominican brothers, and the Capitulars.
